It’s a Mini Monday, where bookstagram reviews meet blog posts! I always feel so thankful when Karen sends me a delightful (or in this case dark) bookish bounty and I hope she knows that! I audibly squealed when Psychopaths Anonymous landed at my house and of course I started it almost immediately!
Psychopaths Anonymous is the fifth Orenda Books novel from Will Carver which sees us peering into the mind of psychopath Maeve (who I think we all love!) This warped and thought-provoking novel is out in ebook now with the paperback release fast approaching in November. You can pre-order from Orenda Books’ new snazzy online store here.

When she can’t find a support group to share her obsession, she creates her own. And Psychopaths Anonymous is born. Friends of Maeve.
Now in a serious relationship, Maeve wants to keep the group a secret. But not everyone in the group adheres to the rules, and when a reckless member raises suspicions with the police, Maeve’s drinking spirals out of control.
She needs to stop killing. She needs to close the group.
But Maeve can’t seem to quit the things that are bad for her, including her new man…
One of the books that introduced me to the world of blogging and Orendabooks, was Good Samaritans by Will Carver.
If you’ve read it, you know it’s warped, sexy, dark and a work of absolute genius. I read it in two sittings. I have now read everything I possibly can from Will, along with his newest upcoming release, Psychopaths Anonymous – publishing in PB this November.
Psychopaths Anonymous follows the story of Maeve, who many of us met during Good Samaritans. Maeve is an addict, a functioning alcoholic with a dependance on sex and an appetite for murder. Yet again, Will Carver has penned a unique novel of human nature, taking what we *think* we know about psychopaths and Maeve as a character, and he puts a spin on it, making us think and at points looking within ourselves. Are we psychopaths??
With another damn sexy, obsessive and violent storyline, you will be captivated from page one, while basking in the fast forwarding downward spiral you see Maeve finding herself in, wondering how she could possibly claw herself out.
Psychopaths Anonymous is just one example of Will’s originality. He will leave you with your jaw on the floor, needing a dark room to evaluate your thoughts and feelings, especially when the waters become murky – is Maeve a true psychopath or is she just a warped anti-heroine?
*These* are the reasons why Will Carver’s novels will ALWAYS go straight to the top of the TBR, he is a genre and talent unto himself.
