First Line Friday: Epiphany Jones by Michael Grothaus @OrendaBooks #EpiphanyJones #FirstLineFriday

Today is not only the first day of #Orentober BUT it is also the first First Line Friday of Orentober and what a great one it is!

Epiphany Jones was published by Orenda Books in 2016 and although it has been on my shelf for a while and recommended to me multiple times, I’ve just not had time to pick it up SO I have grabbed myself the audiobook and I plan on it being one of my three Orentober reads this month!!

Epiphany Jones is out in a variety of formats, with the ebook and paperback being available to purchase from Orenda Books online store here!

Jerry has a traumatic past that leaves him subject to psychotic hallucinations and depressive episodes. When he stands accused of stealing a priceless Van Gogh painting, he goes underground, where he develops an unwilling relationship with a woman who believes that the voices she hears are from God.

Involuntarily entangled in the illicit world of sex-trafficking amongst the Hollywood elite, and on a mission to find redemption for a haunting series of events from the past, Jerry is thrust into a genuinely shocking and outrageously funny quest to uncover the truth and atone for historical sins.

Isn’t that cover just gorgeously eye-catching?!

Okay, okay, time for the first line… it’s… SAUCY!! And I had to type a swear, which may be the first swear of The Reading Closet. Without further ado, voila:

‘Tonight I’m having sex with Audrey Hepburn. Audrey’s breasts are different from the last time we fucked; they’re bigger, not as firm.’

What a corker of a first line!

Fancy reading or listening along with me as I delve into Epiphany Jones? Let me know and we can be book buddies!
