This book, yes, this exact book was like someone (Jennifer Lynn Barnes) had taken the best elements of some of my favourite YA thrillers, the essence of a locked in mystery and a sprinkle of humour and created one of the best books that I’ve read this year. A week after finishing The Inheritance Games and I am still getting the bookgasm shakes! It’s a good one. Let me tell you more about why you should immediately put this One of Us is Lying cross Pretty Little Liars hybrid on your must read list.
We have Avery, our kick-ass, intelligent, ballsy protagonist who live with her sister Libby who is wrapped around her annoyance of a mentally abusive monster boyfriend. A very pretty much comes from nothing, but she has goals and she is driven. When she’s told that a rich billionaire, who she has never met, has named her in his will, everyone, including Avery is flabbergasted. Who is this man? Why did he leave her his fortune? But nothing comes easily, with his family suspecting that Avery is a seductress who got her claws into their rich patriarch, she must watch her back if she’s to get to the bottom of this mystery and get what is promised. I know right, sounds fantastic? But wait, there’s more.
The eccentric billionaire not oy practically disinherited his whole family, but he’s left his mansion to Avery, the one with secret doors, coded messages and riddles upon riddles, as well as four rather handsome grandsons. Are they the key? Not only will The Inheritance Games keep you guessing, keep you hooked and make you snack on everything in sight while you consume ‘just one more chapter’ but it’ll make you wish that you can ninja in to wherever the next book in the series is and steal a sneak peak.
Eaxh chapter will peak your interest, lure you in further to the mystery of not only the inheritance but alsothe deadly secrets that has consumed this family. Hold on tight, grab your snacks, you’re in for a fabulous bookish adventure! Obviously I highly recommend that you buckle in!
