It’s arrived! My first Capital Crime Book Club box – here’s what I thought. @CapitalCrime1 #CapitalCrimeBookClub

Last year, I had the honour of being invited to the first Capital Crime Festival, I loved it! I met some amazing book people who have become some of my dearest friends, as well as brilliant authors, publishers and did I say like minded book people?Well after the success of last year’s festival and the sadness of this year’s one being cancelled because of THAT C word, the Capital Crime team came up with a super idea to help keep crime fiction and thriller lovers united, they’ve tightened this community AGAIN and they’ve given us more books to talk about. How? The Capital Crime Book Club subscription box, a monthly box that contains two crime / thriller books chosen by the team that’s sent out to everyone on the subscription list for as little as ÂŁ10 a month when you sign up for a years membership. BARGAIN! This concept allows bookworms everywhere to have the opportunity to read the same books, chat about said book and again, the way Capital Crime does, brings people closer together even when we can’t physically all be together chatting and drinking tea…. You get my point. Anyways, depending on your subscription length, you can receive a monthly box for as little as ÂŁ10 for a yearly membership, and at most ÂŁ14.99 a month for a 3 month membership. You can sign up here: https://www.capitalcrime.org/about-us/the-capital-crime-book-club/ Not only will you receive books but you’ll also have access to online content, from interviews to news.Could it get any better?

I was over the moon when Team Capital Crime reached out and asked me if I’d like to receive their first ever Capital Crime Book Club box for free in exchange for an honest review. *Spoiler* I am absolutely signing up for next months box!

So, the door knocks and I am socially distantly presented with this glorious package with the logo! I knew immediately what it was and snatched it (and said thanks) from the postie. Look at it!And you’re absolutely right, the inside was more beautiful than I could ever have imagined it to be! This month’s books included the number one Sunday Times book, the one that hit number 1 after 600 books were published last week – a signed hardback of The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, along with a paperback of one of my favourite authors, who writes get under your skin reads with love to hate characters – it’s Mark Edwards and the book in question? The House Guest. Along with these two books, the parcel arrived with a signed The House Guest postcard with a The Guest House pen…. A special pen. A pen with a torch inbuilt that’s PERFECT for under the duvet reading, believe me it is a tool of absolute genius levels.Of course I put these bookish Delights through a mini photoshoot and I’m pretty sure they loved it, but can we also just sit here and appreciate the naked beauty of The Thursday Morning Club and THOSE END PAPERS!? Is this what true love feels like? There you have it, my rambling, impressed review of the first ever. Its value for money, the books chosen are amazing and it’s absolutely going to be a highlight of my month, every month. Thanks again to Team CC for sending me out a box!Have you signed up? Have you recieved your box? Make sure to share your posts on social media using the hash tag #CapitalCrimeBookClub for the chance to win something extra in your box next month!
