Blog tour: His & Hers by Alice Feeney @alicewriterland @HQStories #His&Hers #Thriller #PublicationDay #HappyPublicationDay

If there are two sides to every story, someone is always lying…

Jack: Three words to describe my wife: Beautiful. Ambitious. Unforgiving.
Anna: I only need one word to describe my husband: Liar.

When a woman is murdered in Blackdown village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Anna’s ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper, is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.

Someone is lying, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Happiest of publication day to Alice Feeney for her newest book His & Her! Thanks to HQ Stories for the tour spot and copy of this deliciously dark thriller to review in preparation of this tour. This is Alice’s third book and I am ashamed that I haven’t read her previous two, I can tell you know, that will be changed soon! If you, the reader, are in the market for a gripping read, you can grab yourself copy here!

This book had me all tied up, wrapped up in the bookish world of Anna and Jack, one thing I adore is a perfectly balanced domestic thriller that will blow your knee high socks off. We are immediately drawn into Anna’s world, she clearly is an individual whose emotional scars run deep, she puts on a brave face but behind closed doors she’s not the person that she used to be. His & Hers is a thrilling tale told from two narratives, Anna’s was more personal, whereas Jack felt closed off – a feeling of shared trauma – add that to a series of chilling murders you have a captivating read that will leave you catatonically shook! Their connection opens the story up on a personal level, while also creating that detective – reporter relationship, quite a duo these two!

I thoroughly enjoyed the unreliable feel of His & Hers, where you’re not sure what turn of events you believe, either way you know that the storyline will be fill your boots with a delicious portion of adrenaline pumping events. One of the main parts that gave me the shivers, were the short, taut point of views from the killer, we the reader obviously have no clue who that person is. The language used defines them as the root of evil within this book, the clipped shortness of their point of view drags you in further into this unsettling cat and mouse hunt, with the added feeling of eyes lurking within the shadows – always watching *shivers*.

I applaud Alice for creating a heart racing thriller, with two main characters that you both love and dislike simultaneously, with a flick between point of views that aren’t whiplash like, but able to switch between with ease. The pieces of the jigsaw work and flow wonderfully to provide the biggest reading gasps. Alice is a thriller writing force! I can’t fault her or His & Hers, for me the pretence, atmosphere and characters were perfect.

Until next time,
Happy reading!
