Blog tour: The Lonely Fajita by Abigail Mann @abigailemann @0neMoreChapter_ @CWIPprize #BlogTour #BookReview #TheLonelyFajita #CWIPprize #BlogTour

Breaking up is hard to do… Or the best thing that could happen to you!

It’s Elissa’s birthday, but her boyfriend hasn’t really noticed – and she’s accidentally scheduled herself a cervical smear instead of celebration drinks. Great.

Then there’s her borderline-psychotic boss, the fact she’s not making but losing money at work, and her sinking feeling she’s about to be dumped.

But Elissa will soon find out that being single doesn’t have to be lonely… And with a little help from her friends, even a girl with minus £1,000 in her account can have a lot of fun.

I am so excited that it’s finally my day to share my thoughts on this laugh out loud debut, one that I loved and I’ll know you’ll love too! Kathryn, my darling book friend approached me and invited me on this tour for CWIP unpublished runner up of 2019 – The Lonley Fajita by Abigail Mann. I couldn’t say yes fast enough and I thank her because I needed this book. Also thanks to Avon Books for providing me with a Netgalley widget so I could read in preparation of the tour!

The Lonley Fajita is available in ebook format in 2 days time, you can pre-order yourself a copy here! If you’re more of a physical book reader, you can still pre-order for its August release – it’s perfect for those warn days with a cocktail in the garden or a rainy day under the duvet! Can’t go wrong!

Abigail is a comedy writer living in London and surviving on a diet of three-shot coffee, bourbons, and vegetarian sausage rolls. She was born and brought up in Norfolk, which she says is to blame for the sardonic humour that runs through her novels. Abigail was the runner-up in 2019’s Comedy Women in Print award for The Lonely Fajita: her first novel.

Elissa is a protagonist who is going to keep you smiling throughout this novel, whether it’s from those embarrassing mishaps to the friends that she keeps. Think Bridget Jones meets The Marigold Hotel, and you have yourself a wonderful, funny and uplifting read that incorporates some workplace backstabbing, Sex in the City vibes and unpredictable friendships. Usually I make notes as I go when reading books for review but I just didn’t have the time, I was so absorbed in the highs, lows and drama bubbling to the surface of Elissa’s life.

Let’s start with the boyfriend who practically split up with Elissa on her birthday! We’ve all been there, blinkered by what is actually going on and then BAM single, not quite in the cringey way Elissa finds herself single but you can’t help but feel sorry for the lass (and you really want to slap her ex-boyfriend in the face). The storyline that then unravels is brilliant, one that not only sees Elissa tumble through her newly single life style but also we see how she changes life paths, while beginning to have faith in herself. It’s heart-warming how you see our protagonist learning about herself, her independency while also taking leaps of faith whereas before she’d not even dream about it. With truly laugh out loud mishaps, I think we can all find a piece of ourselves in Elissa and The Lonely Fajita.

Abigail has created a captivating, smile – inducing and fantastic comedy read that has lived up to her being one of the CWIP runner ups! I am so happy that this perfect summer read is being published so you can all read it – everyone needs a ‘brighten your day’ read and The Lonely Fajita will deliver! The storyline is captivating, with a protagonist that you’ll adore and you’ll be her biggest cheerleader as the plotline unravels in the perfect bite-sized chapters. A true identifiable coming of age story with sprinklings of humour!

Treat yourself, buy it and love it!

Until next time,
Happy reading!
