If you’re a thriller reader and you have no clue what The Chain is, are you even a thriller reader?? This book has been popping up all across the Twitterverse and this blogger has been zoning in on it, ready to pounce when any proof were available. Then one day, a fellow blogger let me know that Orion were approving Netgalley sampler requests. Sampler or not, I flew over to Netgalley quicker that you can say ‘I am now part of The Chain’ and low and behold a few hours later the glorious golden ticket of approval hit my inbox. Thanks Orion Publishing and Orion Crime!
The Chain is set to be one of the top thrillers of 2019, you’ll be a fool to miss it! This novel will be published in hardback, with e-book and audiobook formats available from the 9th of July (the time will fly… hopefully!) you can pre-order your copy here!
Your phone rings.
A stranger has kidnapped your child.
To free them you must abduct someone else’s child.
Your child will be released when your victim’s parents kidnap another child.
If any of these don’t happen:
Your child will be killed.
You are now part of the chain.
Hey, down here! I’m rambling aka raving from the floor where this sampler has left me!
Do you know that feeling you get when you’re watching your favourite tv series and the producers decide there should be a mid season break? I am currently working through that feeling, I’m a fish stuck on a big juicy hook…. the hook being The Chain and i’m just there dangling in the water waiting! I NEED MORE!
I can completely understand the wave of excitement for Adrian McKinty’s upcoming novel, it’s f**king fantastic and you should 110% go and pre-order a copy because although I’ve only read the sampler I KNOW this is going to be a neck breaking rollercoaster thriller that you’re not going to want to miss. The Chain is dark, super dark and yet it is unbelievably realistic in concept. Children are being kidnapped in broad daylight, that isn’t only fictionally scary but it’s scary because it happens. Children get kidnapped in broad daylight all the time, most of us watch as the events unfold on the 10pm news, but what would you do if it happened to you? This is exactly what Rachel is about to find out, how far will she go to get her daughter Kylie back when she is kidnapped due to the principles of The Chain.
The wave of trepidation entwined into The Chain will engulf you completely into a storyline that will chill your bones and have you hanging on every single word. This original and cleverly written book (well sampler) is taut, fast paced and sharp. The dialogue also sparks several thoughts, including how far would you go to save your child? Would you replace your child with someone else’s in a murderous situation? You know that the book is going to be terrifyingly real, especially when the dark web is involved!
The sampler is written from multiple points of views; the child that has been kidnapped and the parents, this allows you to read about the events unfolding from all angles, quite like a terrifying origami swan! I can’t wait to get my grabby hands on a copy in July, no plans will be made for publication day! PRE-ORDER!
Also, is it possible to have a book hangover from a sampler, because I’m pretty sure I’m in need of a stiff drink and a lie down!
Thank you again Orion Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this super sampler! Keep an eye out for the reviews by some amazing bloggers who have been lucky enough to receive a sampler / a full copy of Adrian’s masterpiece by searching #TheChain on Twitter and Instagram!

Oh my! This sounds amazing! I’m almost to scared to request the sampler, *almost*. I love books that hook you like this and the premise for this one is just: wow. You’d never kidnap a child would you?! Well, you might if it meant saving your own, this is like one of those psychology experiments meets reality type scenarios. It gives me shivers just thinking about it!
